What is Charcoal Making Machine?

Charcoal making machine utilizes biomass pyrolysis technology to convert organic materials such as wood, coconut shells, and agricultural waste into charcoal. How to Make Charcoal?

Raw Material Pretreatment

Initially, biomass raw materials should be dried and crushed to meet the feed requirements. It is recommended that the moisture content of the biomass be less than 15%, with particle sizes kept within 20mm (optimal size is 8-12mm). If there is a significant amount of dust in the raw material, a drum screen is recommended to separate fine dust particles.

Pyrolysis

The pretreated biomass is fed into a preheated biochar pyrolysis reactor via a large-angle belt conveyor. The reaction occurs in a high-temperature micro-oxygen environment (380°C–450°C), where the biomass undergoes the removal of internal moisture and organic volatiles. This process ultimately yields biochar with a high carbon content.

Combustible Gas Reuse

The thermal decomposition of biomass generates mixed biogases such as H₂, CH₄, and CO. These gases are purified using a flue condenser and water seal, resulting in combustible gas. This purified gas then enters the combustion system to provide heat for the biomass carbonization furnace. Excess combustible gas is either directed to the exhaust chamber or collected separately.

Charcoal Collection

High-temperature biochar from the reactor is conveyed into the discharge system. A water-cooled screw conveyor exchanges heat with the hot biochar through cooling water, lowering the discharge temperature. Once the temperature drops below 45°C, the biochar is collected and stored.
